Sharon Signs to Cherry Red, by the Kamikaze Pilots
July 20, 2007
About 13 months ago, I posted a request for an MP3 of a particular song. I subsequently received it. A few times since then, I’ve received an email request along the lines of “Did you ever find an MP3 and, if you did, would you mind sharing?”
I certainly don’t mind sharing. I believe that, since the record (one of those little black vinyl things) is long out of print, no-one will object to my doing so. (Please send me a takedown notice if you believe you have the right to do so: andrew at changingway dot org.)

Kevin, thanks for the comment. Always good to hear from a fellow friend of Sharon.

I remember putting this on countless C90s for people back in the mists of time and had despaired of finding another copy after my own tape went missing, so an inordinate amount of thanks to you for this!
Just one thing – the download link for this is

May all who come here leave with a smile.

I thought I had imagined this song because no-one else I know had ever heard it. Hurrah for Sharon and, like other friends, Annie Nightingale. Now off to search for Fish Heads and Germans…

Was reminded of this track this morning, googled, and found this page. Thank you! I too raise a glass to “Annie N on 1FM”. But…. argh… now I’ve been reminded of Fish Heads and Germans, I’ll have to go and look for those too!

“Fish Heads and Germans” doesn’t ring a bell, but I’m glad that you guys enjoy rediscovering Sharon.

So great to hear this after so long – I saw the band in Norwich year’s ago in a small venue opposite the 10 Bells. The Fire Hydrant Men also played – it was a brilliant gig. Used to have the track on a C90 John Peel session tape but it got mangled so thanks for sharing! It would be great to see a picture of the band – I wonder where they are now…
