Freakonomics Thrown Over the Shark by NYT

It’s time to cancel my subscription to the feed for the Freakonomics blog. It moved to the New York Times a couple of weeks ago. This doesn’t represent a move away from WordPress, by the way.

The move to the NYT is not in itself a reason for canceling. But it did result in the feed being cut from a full feed to a micro-feed, with only the first paragraph or so of each post. The people who had the feed interrupted were the lucky ones.

There’s also a change to the comments policy. It no longer requires registration, which is good. On the other hand, it no longer allows you to specify the URI of your own blog, so that readers who find your comment interesting can visit you.
