Many have already written about WordPress.com becoming an OpenID producer. For example:
- Scott Kveton hails the news, embeds my Jyte claim that WordPress should support OpenID, and regards it as unfortunate that WordPress.com is not also an OpenID consumer (so, for example, I can’t sign in to wp.com with my claimID).
- Chris Messina jumps the gun, assuming bidirectional support (i.e. producer and consumer), looks forward to further OpenIDness at WordPress, edits his post to remove the gun-jumping.
- Read/Write Richard notes as a gap the fact that “you can’t actually sign into your WordPress blog with an OpenID,” and adds that Google’s lack of any support for OpenID is conspicuous.
- I have responded to Matt Mullenweg’s comment on my post of yesterday.
