Scribd (not to be confused with Scrybe) looks to Nick Gonzalez of Techcrunch like YouTube for documents and a winner. It doesn’t look like a winner to me: there’s copyrighted material just begging for the takedown, there’s vanity publishing,… come to think of it, that does sound like YouTube…
On the other hand, I like Ficlets, which is like a very thin vertical slice of what Scribd tries to be. It’s for very short creative commons fiction. It probably deserves its own post, in addition to the one I’ve already devoted to it.
