Spring Snapping

BlossomThe weekend just ending was a busy and blossoming one. Each day included several excursions, one of which prompted much photographing of spring blossom.

On Saturday afternoon, we went to the Public Garden and to Boston Common. As this picture illustrates, it was a good day for blossom, blooms, and photographs.

Jen Stewart was another Boston blogger out with her camera. She took a shot I later wished I’d paused to attempt: check out the loner tulip. I share Jen’s regret that we didn’t realize that we were there on the same day.

Jen posted said regret to this picture of Betsy, our hound. Betsy provided our motive for going to the Public Garden. She, along with some other Boston dogs, is due to appear in a short video at the Boston Pops. Yes, it’s an Elvis medley including “Hound Dog.” (Note: previously-blogged attempts to find a new home for Betsy didn’t work.) If anyone out there sees our multimedia mutt, please let me know.

Sunday afternoon’s excursion took us to the Arnold Arboretum. None of the pictures I took comes close to doing the blossom justice; this one probably comes closest.
