WordPress App for Facebook

There is now a WordPress.com Facebook application. It didn’t seem to work when I tried to include it in my FB this afternoon, but it seems fine now.

Andrew Watson's Facebook profileIt is of course also possible to put Facebubbly stuff into one’s blog. Facebubble? Yes, I think it is.

I was particularly struck by the way in which Joseph introduced the new app.

Blogs are one of the ways the Internet has fostered greater communication among people than ever before. Social network sites like Facebook provide a more structured way to keep up with specific people. Wouldn’t it be great if you could mix the two?

In a recent post about Vox, I compared Vox with WordPress.com and with Facebook: “Vox is a blog/social net hybrid, WordPress.com is a blog site, and Facebook a social network.” Things like the WordPress.com Facebook application allow us to “mix and mash.” That’s the way the winds of the web are blowing. They may change towards more integrated services such as Vox, but I don’t see that happening soon.
