Here are a couple of enlightened comments on copyright from musicians.
- We “have long encouraged the purely non-commercial exchange of music taped at our concerts… That a new medium of distribution has arisen – digital audio files being traded over the Internet – does not change our policy in this regard.
- “This song is Copyrighted in U.S… for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin’ it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn.”
Thanks to Corey Goldberg for the juxtaposition, and to Reddit for the link to it.
ps I was going to start the title with “Grateful Woody,” but I don’t want to attract the wrong sort of searcher or linker.
